A tribute to life

This website and this project are a TRIBUTE, a tribute to life, to which I am deeply grateful, and to all the people who have helped me get here and become who I am today.

Our purpose at ME from Spain is to do our bit to build a better and more sustainable world. Part of our profits go to a social cause, we promote and reward true artisanship, and our ultimate goal is to create a Foundation.

With all my heart, I wish to thank:

  • David Luquin, a strong advocate of innovation and entrepreneurship, who challenged me to shape this project and encouraged me, after we met at ISEM in 2019, to transform more than 10 years’ worth of notes on my computer, and many more of ideas, into a highly detailed Business Plan with a clear course of action.
  • Isabel de Casas, my outstanding coach, who is one of the most valuable gifts that life has given me and knew how to look beyond and help me be happy, and to whom I promised I would launch this website in 2020, a promise has been stuck in my head ever since.
  • Amaya and Mikigai for understanding my business idea so well, making me enjoy every minute and helping me capture each detail in the brand essence, the logo and this website. Without your words, your enthusiasm—comparable to mine from the very start—, your faith in me and your constant encouragement, I would not have come this far… Thanks to you, I’ve felt excited and exhilarated throughout the entire process.
  • Alejandro, the photographer who took the photos for this website; you helped me overcome my camera shyness and made me feel like a real movie star during the photoshoots.
  • My peers at Promociona, for your energy and for being a source of constant inspiration, and especially to Karine, who asked me the right question at the right time at that dinner (following the event to celebrate 10th Anniversary of Promociona, with the participation of HM the Queen of Spain). Thank you, a thousand times, Susana Sanchiz, director of the Promociona project, especially for that first interview where I could never imagine how powerful the spirit of Promociona could be, and for selecting me. Thank you, Fernando Saludes, my mentor in this program and an outstanding businessman from Valencia, for helping me find my place in the family business.
  • My classmates at EMiLUX, the first class to graduate from this excellent Master, with whom I learned the keys to Luxury Management and lived memorable experiences in Paris, Milan, Dubai, Singapore and Mumbai… Special thanks to Akanksha for how warmly you and your family welcomed me into your home in India and allowed me a glimpse of your sophistication and traditions.
  • Ashok Som, my Entrepreneurship Professor at EMiLUX in ESSEC Paris, for helping me understand the vast possibilities of building a business around Concierge Services and encouraging me to set up my own company.
  • My classmates in the UCLA Anderson W50 Program in Los Angeles for women leaders… That experience was the first of many challenges and, since then, I have felt you by my side every step of the way… Special thanks to Elena Mendez, my employee experience guru, for helping me define my future.
  • Carla Avilés, director of the Globalcaja Horizonte XXII Foundation, for promoting, jointly with The Valley, the Digital Business Management program that has served me so well in capturing my ideas for this website. Also, thank you because in that Women Leaders course in 2022, where you asked me to participate as a speaker, when I encouraged the participants to strike out on their own, I publicly committed to doing so myself with this project.
  • Manye, my dearest friend and classmate at the university and during our MBA in Madrid, with whom I have discussed this project so many times, for so many shared insights and for your unfailing support.
  • Nati, my cousin par excellence and close friend, for all those inspiring conversations about Madrid, its streets and its shops (we never seem to have enough time…). And thank you for making me go back to the gym: lifting weights has given me strength to lift this.
  • Samira Boumedine, for believing in me, and for telling me once more that time I saw you in Barcelona that nobody knew as much as I did about Spanish brands and being the spark that rekindled the business idea in my head.
  • Reyes Dalmau, who, ever since we met in the MBA in Fashion Management at ISEM, has been aware of my interest in the world of fashion, with whom I have shared so much, from routes to find the latest trends in London to powerful conversations, and who has always listened to me, supporting and encouraging me to launch this idea.
  • My group of Asturians (Mercedes, Elena, Braulio and José Manuel), for all those wonderful moments, for your intelligence and for being a constant source of inspiration… Ever since that surprise that I set up for you in “Villa del Carmen”, you have been the ones to surprise me time and time again… And each get-together has been a source of constant learning, filled with ideas for the future and insights to build upon.
  • My group “Food of the World”, for your generosity and spirituality, and because all our hilarious conversations about the Wedding Planners project emboldened me even further to launch this one.
  • My fellow advisors at the Institute of Corporate Governance for their exceptional strategic and business vision, and especially Eva Turanzo, Program Director and the person who opened doors to very powerful women’s associations, such as WA4Steam and the Global Summit of Women.
  • My dearest Maras, unconditional friends since our dorm days who have endured my crazy ideas all these years. Special thanks to Ana, who has continuously kept me up to date on any news related to this project and has actively participated in this website.
  • My darling Elenas, Elena M and Elena B, for that dinner celebration at U. Quintín, where women as intelligent as you saw the need and business opportunity, told me not to give up on my idea and encouraged me to keep going.
  • Covadonga O’Shea and Blanca Moro, because in those meetings we had after the MBA in Fashion Management at ISEM, you always encouraged me to pursue my dreams in the world of fashion and I will never forget what Covadonga once said to me, quoting Winston Churchill: “Never, never, never give up”.
  • Carmen and Fernando, for all those fantastic moments during our gastronomic meals and wine tastings and pairings, where we so often visualize these experiences and our clients.
  • My father, an upstanding businessman and undisputed leader characterized by his exceptional humility, humanity and sense of humor, from whom I have learned more about the world of business than in all the master program I have done in Business Schools worldwide.
  • My mother, whose calm, prudence, elegance and poise are values that I admire greatly and are deeply ingrained in me.
  • My brother, one of the smartest people I know, a keen entrepreneur who shows exceptional courage in business… Having you close is undoubtedly a motivation for constant improvement.
  • My sons, who have been hearing about this project almost since they were born, who have shared me with numerous courses and trips, and who endure with great patience my questions and comments about the world of fashion and luxury. “May you treasure and honor [each] other and all the beautiful memories we share forever”.
  • And, of course, my husband, the great love of my life. You have always encouraged me to do whatever made me happy. When someone tells you so often that you are very special and unique, you can only strive to create WONDERFUL things.

Finally, I also want to thank all the people who have been or still are around me, because in one way or another you have influenced my life and helped me fight to be a better person every day and try to contribute, with my legacy, to a better world.
